PHA Nursing Advisor Presenting at Major UK Conference

The Public Hospitals Authority (PHA) is pleased to announce that PHA Nursing Advisor Willamae Stuart has been invited to make a presentation at the Inaugural Ceremony of the Commonwealth Nurses Conference 2012 on the 10th of March 2012 in London, UK.

The two-day conference will provide an opportunity for nurses and midwives to showcase and share their contribution to improving the health and wellbeing of citizens of the Commonwealth. The Health and Commonwealth Program will include: meeting the health Millennium Development Goals (MDG); the regulation of nursing and midwifery; using information technology to improve care; addressing the health effects of climate change; and developing a healthy workforce and healthy systems of work.

 “We are extremely happy that the organizers of this prestigious conference extended an invitation to PHA’s Nursing Advisor to present. Not only will this engagement    shine a light on Mrs. Stuart’s many contributions to Nursing, but will also focus the spotlight on the particular attention the Public Hospitals Authority is giving to uplifting our dedicated public service nurses, through training opportunities and physical improvements to their working conditions. Given her excellent communication skills, we know that Mrs. Stuart will do PHA and The Bahamas proud,” Herbert Brown, Managing Director, PHA said.

The Commonwealth Nurses Conference 2012 is being held on the eve of Commonwealth Week which will be celebrated March 12th – 18th in London. Scheduled to speak on March 10th , Mrs. Stuart has chosen as her subject “Excellence in Nursing Care”.
