Cardiovascular Drugs, Quinapril + Hydrochlorothiazide

10+2.5mg; 20+12.5; 20+25mg
Indications/Special comments:
Hypertension in patients stabilized on the individual components in the same proportions.
Dosage Administration:
Adults: Initial: Patients who have failed quinapril monotherapy: Quinapril 10mg + hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg or Quinapril 20mg + hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg once daily. Patients with adequate blood pressure control on hydrochlorothiazide 25mg daily, but significant potassium loss: Quinapril 10mg + hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg or Quinapril 20mg + hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg once daily. Elderly: If previous response to individual components is unknown, initial dose selection should be cautious, at the low end of dosage range. Note: Wait at least 2 weeks before increasing hydrochlorothiazide dose.

Indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia; bipolar disorder: monotherapy for the acute treatment of depressive episodes associated with bipolar disorder. Maintenance treatment of bipolar disorder, as an adjunct to lithium or divalproex
Dosage Administration:
Schizophrenia: oral using immediate-release medicines. Adult: 25mg twice daily for day 1, then 50mg twice daily for day 2, then 100mg twice daily for day 3, then 150mg twice daily for day 4, then, adjusted according to response, usual dose 300 – 450mg daily in 2 divided doses, the rate of dose titration may need to be slower and the daily dose lower in elderly patients; maximum 750mg per day. Treatment of mania in bipolar disorder: Oral using immediate-release medicines. Adult: 50mg twice daily for day 1, then 100mg twice daily for day 2, then 150mg twice daily for day 3, then 200mg twice daily for day 4, then adjusted in steps of up to 200mg daily, adjusted according to response, usual dose 400 – 800mg daily in 2 divided doses, the rate of dose titration may need to be slower and the daily dose lower in elderly patients; maximum 800mg per day. Treatment of depression in bipolar disorder: Oral using immediate-release medicines. Adult: 50mg once daily for day 1, dose to be taken at bedtime, then 100mg once daily for day 2, then 200mg once daily for day 3, then 300mg once daily for day 4, then, adjusted according to response; usual dose 300mg once daily, the rate of dose titration may need to be slower and the daily dose lower in elderly patients; maximum 600mg per day. Prevention of mania and depression in bipolar disorder: Oral using immediate-release medicines. Adult: Continue at the dose effective for treatment of bipolar disorder and adjust to lowest effective dose; usual dose 300 – 800mg daily in 2 divided doses.
