Skin Disinfecting Agents, Hydrogen Peroxide

Indications/Special comments:
Hydrogen peroxide 1.5% solution is used as an antiseptic and deodorant mouthwash. By its effervescence, it may liberate debris from inaccessible cavities and aid in proper cleansing of the buccal cavity.

Dilute to 1.5% before use as a mouthwash. Topically, apply to the wound to cleanse.

Cleansing skin and preventing the spread of infection.
Dosage Administration:
To use, wet hands with water. Place 1 teaspoon of hexachlorophene into the palm and work up lather with water. Apply to the area to be cleansed. Rinse thoroughly after use, especially sensitive areas such as the genitals.

Dosage Administration:
Immunization of Children against hepatitis B: IM: infant 0.5ml either at birth or at 6 and 14 weeks of age, or at 6, 10 and 14 weeks of age. Immunization of unimmunized high risk persons against hepatitis B: IM: Adult and child over 15 years of age 3 doses of 1ml, with an interval of 1 month between the first and second dose and 5 months between the second and third doses; child under 15 years, 0.5ml.

For active immunization against Haemophilus influenzas type b infections, one of the major causes of meningitis and other sever systems illnesses in young children.
Dosage Administration:
By deep SC or IM injection in doses of 0.5ml; doses are given at 2, 3 and 4 months of age. Note: The vaccine may be administered at the same time as combined diphtheria, tetanus, and pertusis vaccines of the primary immunization schedule children aged under 13 months who have already commenced or completed their primary immunization schedule should receive three doses of Hib at intervals of one month. Children aged 13 to 48 months should be given a single dose as they are at lower risk and the vaccine is effective after a single dose in this age group.

Prevention of motion sickness. Prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting. Oral: Symptomatic treatment of postencephalitis Parkinsonism and paralysis agitans. Treatment of spasticity. Inhibits excessive motility and hypertonus of GI tract in irritable colon syndrome, mild dysentery, diverticulitis, and pylorospasm. Prevention of motion sickness.
Dosage Administration:
IV: Adults: One ampoule (20 mg) intramuscularly or intravenously, repeated after half an hour if necessary. Intravenous injection should be performed ‘slowly’, when used in endoscopy this dose may need to be repeated more frequently. Maximum daily dose of 100mg.
