Dosage Administration:
Muscle spasm of varied aetiology: Adult: 2 – 15mg daily in divided doses, then increased if necessary to 60mg daily, adjusted according to response, dose only increased in spastic conditions. Muscle spasm in cerebral spasticity or in postoperative skeletal muscle spasm: Child 12 – 17 years: Initially 10mg twice daily; maximum 40mg per day. Pain of muscle spasm in palliative care: Adult: 5 – 10mg daily.

Dosage Administration:
Acute muscle spasm: By intramuscular injection, or by slow intravenous injection: Adult:10mg, then 10mg after 4 hours if required, intravenous injection to be administered into a large vein at a rate of no more than 5 mg/minute. Tetanus: By intravenous injection: Child: 100 – 300 micrograms/kg every 1 – 4 hours. Adult: 100 – 300 micrograms/kg every 1 – 4 hours. By intravenous infusion, or by nasoduodenal tube: Child: 3 – 10mg/kg, adjusted according to response, to be given over 24 hours. Adult: 3 –10mg/kg, adjusted according to response, to be given over 24 hours.

Treatment of spasticity associated with spinal cord injury, stroke, cerebral palsy, or multiple sclerosis, treatment of malignant hyperthermia.
Dosage Administration:
Spasticity: Adult: 25mg/day to start, increase frequency to 2 - 4 times/day, then increase dose by 25mg every 4 - 7 days to a maximum of 100mg 2 - 4 times / day or 400mg/day. Child: initial 0.5mg/kg/dose twice daily, increase frequency to 3 - 4 times/day at 4 - 7 day intervals, then increase dose by 0.5mg/kg to a maximum of 3mg/kg/dose 2 - 4 times/day up to 400mg/day.

Dosage Administration:
Malignant hyperthermia: Adult and Child: preoperative prophylaxis: 4 - 8mg/kg/day in 4 divided doses begin 1 – 2 days prior to surgery with last dose 3 - 4 hours prior to surgery. Treatment: Administered by continuous rapid intravenous push beginning at a minimum dose of 1 mg/kg, and continuing until symptoms subside or the maximum cumulative dose of 10 mg/kg has been reached. If the physiologic and metabolic abnormalities reappear, the regimen may be repeated.
