Drug Class: Analgesic/Antipyretic/Anti-inflammatory
Dosage Form: Elixir
Strength: 2.5mg + 167mg / 5ml
Indications/Special comments: Management of pain that is severe enough to warrant daily, around-the-clock, long-term opioid treatment where alternative treatment options are inadequate. Combination products: Management of moderate to severe pain. Antitussive (usually in combination products with decongestants).
Dosage Administration: Children: Analgesic (1 – 13 yr): 0.1 – 0.2mg/kg every 3 – 4 hr. Antitussive – 0.6mg/kg/day divided every 6 – 8 hr; (maximum doses: <2 yr: 1.25mg/dose; 2 – 12 yr: 5mg/dose; >12 yr: 10mg/dose).
